Default Tough and sick spot in WSOP sat

30 left out of 496 that started.
27 qualify to the main event.
1k/2k, 100 ante
I recently failed to steal from the button (got reraised by SB), so my stack is about 25k.
The problem is huge manaical stack on the left of me, which is always the button when i am BB and steals all my blinds (he just needs to sit out and he is in for sure).
There is no really short stacks left, i am in about 25th place and other tables are pretty quiet, medium stacks are obviously folding their ways into sattelites and letting the smaller stacks steal their blinds freely and chip up.

The maniacal retard raises to 6k.Co folds, i am on the button and i have AK.
About half an hour ago i shoved AQ on his raise and he folded.
I need to win another pot to be safely in.
But is it possible to fold my way into the WSOP?

Do i shove or fold here?

I probably push this. You should be better than 60% if called. If you get called half the time, the win the hand 80% of the time. If you double up, you lock up a seat, and if everyone folds, you close to lock up a seat. I think this is better than your chances of wualifying by folding.

Yeh it's a horrible situation but shoving is probably the move. You cant fold your way in with a small stack so the idea is to keep your stack above water (Over 10 or so big blinds minimum). Once your stack gets low people will start serial limping on to your big blind to crowd you out and stop you doubling up. Get your chips in while you still have fold equity and stamp some authority I say. I agree with betgo, a shove that makes him fold will stand you in good stead. A double up and your through no question (barring a monumental [censored] up) Like I say it's so hard cos im sure thoughts of him calling with 99 or something were going through your head. Be brave and push.

Stack size of the maniac? Can he afford to take the 25k hit and still be one of the biggest stacks? How willing do you think he would be to race here? Does he just like openraising a lot or will he call a bunch, like if you decided to fold here and then he open raise all in, would he fold most of the time, or does he like to gamble it up and try to knock out players?

I think the most important things to look at here are his stack size in general and compared to the field, and if he is loose with just open raising, or loose with calling as well, like he just likes openraising a lot but will fold to 3bet, and will fold to your open push. Or is he willing to call your push with a wide range.

How many handed is the table?

For me this is so dependent on the player. Depending on how loose he is I fold here, or shove here.

i was watching this table but i didn't see this hand. I do think this is a push hand, and I also think COP does call with a med. pair, but You can probably get him to to toss small pairs and AJ-, and middle paint.

There are more hands he'll muck then call with, and when you do get called and win, you just about guarantee a seat, and if everyone folds, you're in better shape to get a seat. You have two ways to win the hand, and you don't know when you'll see something as good as AK in the next few orbits.

That wasn't maniacal, it was calculated aggression by him. It was correct play by the big stack, on the bubble, in a major satellite.
