Default Billy Gillespie to Kentucky

Awesome hire for the Wildcats.. no wonder he had been hesitant to sign the long term deal with Texas A&M

The cult members of College Station are slitting their wrists as we speak.

I think he will be a great fit at KU. Still somewhat sleazy that he ended up going there after signing a big extension at TA&M.

Not sleazy at all, he never signed the deal. Plus, TAMU's AD gave UK permission, he knew what was gonna happen. Gonna be interesting to see who if anyone comes to UK with him, he had the #2 center coming to TAMU.

Terrible day for Aggies (my brother is one). What Gillispie did at A&M in 3 years was nothing short of spectacular. Hope the UK fans give him at least one season before they are ready to throw him under the bus.

A weak Big 12 has just gotten weaker. Self and Barnes will rule this conference for years to come.

Well...I knew we were cooked when they asked permission. I don't blame Gillispie...UK is obviously a step up. But...getting left in the lurch is never fun. The one thing I can say is that Gillispie's work has made it possible for us to get a quality replacement for him...perhaps Jamie Dixon or Tim Floyd, although Floyd will probably stick around USC for OJ Mayo. I'd love it if we could entice Mark Few away from Gonzaga, but I don't see that happening. I'm curious who we get next, though, because we are SOOOOO much better as a program than we were three years ago when we hired Billy G.

I don't think there is any way that Dixon or Floyd leave their respective schools right now based on the amount of talent they have now compared to the amount left over at A&M.
