Default Playing KK on the river in position

PartyPoker No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (10 handed)

hi guys there's something wrong with the convertor so i'm just trying to recollect it here:

Villain in EP2 ($30)
Hero in MP2($44.90)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with KK.
Villain limps Hero raises to $2.5, Villain calls.

Flop: ($5.5) 2, 4, Q rainbow (2 players)
EP2 checks, Hero bets $3.5, BB calls $3.5.

Turn: ($12.25) T (2 players)
EP2 checks, Hero bets $6, EP2 calls.

River: ($25) 5 (2 players) (doesn't complete any flush draws)
EP2 checks, Hero??

is it correct to bet here? what weaker hands call? or is it best to check down the overpair

50:7 = 7:1, easy call.

Getting 50:7 or 7:1 I'm calling here.

Although, bet more on the flop and if you bet the turn, as opposed to checking for pot-control, BET MORE. That was a terribly weak bet on the turn. What was your thinking there?

well i thought there are no flush or straight draws so the guys prob has something like KQ, AQ or QJ and i want to get maximum value without scaring him away.

if i bet strong on the flop (pot) and he calls do u suggest betting again on the turn? or should i check the turn? how do i decide between betting and checking?

A case can be made that checking the turn is the better play, as there are no straight/flush draws out there. Therefore, you 'only' have 1 pr. The only hands you beat that call along like that, maybe are AQ or KQ. Otherwise, you're going to see a 2pr or set more often than not.

Personally, w/o draws on the flop or turn, I'd check behind and induce a bluff on the river. But then again, I've been working on my pot control this month....

I'm not a big fan of playing for stacks post flop with 1 pr....

eta: as for whether to bet or check, it depends on the villain, first off. Secondly, w/ the abscense of draws, I'm more inclined to let a free card come off. If the board is draw-y, I'd be much more inclined to bet the turn.

I'm by far from the 'end-all, be-all' word though, so keep this up and more will answer tomorrow, blasting me probably for being weak/tight

I think that this is a quintessential value-betting situation. Imagine if you were in the Villan's shoes with KQ. He's done a good job of pot control, even reducing your turn raise size. It's that small turn raise that has made the size of your value bet tricky (a larger raise on the turn all but commits him on the river). As played the river bet seems ok since any raise has you committed but an all-in folds most hands. Of course for $7 more I'd look him up.
