Default Borgata 250+30 vs. Showboat 53+12 Tounreys

I am heading to AC tomorrow to play some live tournaments. Does anyone have any insight on these two tourneys, particluarly general quality of play vs each other and length of time they typically last? the Borgata starts at noon, the Showboat runs 1 at 11:00 and one at 2:00. Is it possible to play both Showboat toruneys

Also, Boargata looks like it has 30 minute levels - anyone know Showboat structure?

Thanks for any insight.

longer levels mean better players have a higher edge, most fly thru blind levels so play fast. Almost all bad players in most of these events.

First off, you're comparing apples to oranges (a $280 tourny vs. a $65 tourny).

As far as length, the Showboatament usually takes 5 to 6 hours, while the Borgatament takes between 7 and 8.

Bad players abound everywhere.

Never played at the showboat, but looking at the structure one thing I don't like is the lack of antes. It depends on playstyle of course, and no antes certainly help to speed up play.

As for quality of play, I can tell you that the Borgata Friday is not much different than you would expect from any other daily tournament. If you do play it, expect a huge field (400+) and arrive fairly early or you will be on line.

I've played about 6 or 7 of the Showboat tourneys, strictly on Saturday and Sunday at 11 and 2.

They draw usually around 60-100 people, 1st pays somewhere around 1500 usually. There are some descent players, some that think they are descent but suck, and some that have absolutely no idea how to play.

The blinds go up every 20 minutes, so you need to build chips early to have a shot. Nice poker room, cheap tourney, check it out you'll have fun.
