razz
hey just entered a razz tourney don't really know how to play could someone please give me a quick what wins. Is it from the highest card down or what also is A2345 the best hand or is A2346. That sort of stuff.

straights and flushes do not count in razz, so A2345 is the nuts, A2346 2nd nuts, A2356 3rd nuts, etc
yes its highest card down eg: 87654 would beat 9432A since 8 < 9 87543 would beat 8762A since 5 < 6 and razz posts generally go in the stud forum |

thank you I kind of figured it out but that is the exact answer I was looking for I did alright I beat out almost 70% of field. I did it because it was $3 and I figured what the hell. I actually thought I was doing lowball 2-7 which I already somewhat know.

razz in one sentence:
u will get 7 cards, 2 of which you can toss as "bricks", so the critical card is whatever will be your 5rd highest - once you are comfortable with defining the likelihood of what will be your 5th highest (and 4th highest also) you are good to go. Suffice to say, razz against noobs is a cakewalk, and razz against competent opposition is borderline futile, unless you yourself are >> competent. |
