Villain just moved to the table about two hands ago and hasnt played a hand yet so no reads. This seems to be a hand the kind of hand I run into occasionally against and unknown that I always call what does everyone think.

I think I have to call because I would not expect the average unknown to shove a J here (I would think he'd call with it and let you lead the turn) So I'm with you but I think I would be wrong a lot of the time... not really all that sure of my default call in this spot...

Yea I feel like alot of the time when I'm in this situation I call because I'm like I have pocket aces I cant be beat here and then we flip over the cards and I'm dead to two cards. Just not sure what we do here against an unknown

This could be AJ, KJ, QJ, JT, J9, TT. It could also be KK, QQ, AT, KT, QT, 99, KQ, Q9, or a fd. Easy call.

[/ QUOTE ] Im preety positive in the speed of the game Im calling this versus unknown without putting much thought into it, which may mean that it is indeed an easy call, but I'd like to narrow down that range a little... This could be AJ Not Likely , KJ, QJ, JT Not Likely , J9, TT. It could also be KK Not Likely, called outta the BB , QQ Not Likely, called outta the BB , AT Not Likely , KT, QT, 99 Not Likely, probably not much of a consideration, but certainly not impossible either , KQ, Q9, or a fd Not Likely, a 3 Flush??? . and JJ is also possible but very unlikely... So what you have to ask yourself is would villian play like this with weak hands like KT or QT, a Middle PP, or a str8 draw on a paired board... or would it be more likely that he has the J and you are beat... Just something to thin about... O, and FWIW, I still havent convinced myself to fold (probably because of the terrible play I have seen out thier in my time)... so I guess this is an easy call... |

AA on a paired flop... maybe i'm crazy but this is where you get paid off by plenty of the PP's. and noone gives you credit for a J, so more liekly they have T than jack. (although obviously they are being agressive)
i'm getting all my money in here. |

The 4/180 has lots of donks that overbet when they should be trying to extract the most. But I can't fold this unless I have seen the player overbet monsters. Call.
However At lower blinds(20,30) I sometimes push monsters on the flop because you often get called. Very often. |
