Anyone going to World Poker Showdown in Bahamas?

I found this a couple of months ago but have been putting it off whether I would go or not. Then I found out about Turning Stone's ECPC and figured I might go there. But the $2500 event is appealing, as is the Bahamas. I called down there and talked to the guy in charge and he said they were expecting over 200 people for the events. He said he knew of 40 "high rollers" who would be there but was not sure if they knew how to play poker. Anyways, just putting it out there for everyone. Have a good one.

Seems like the Cable Beach resort is going all out for this...we're on the marquis...they're sending out invitations to their entire database...should be great!!!
90.00 room Rates in the Bahamas, they really want this to work for them, that's a steal in May!!!
I don't think these are regular everyday players, more the csual player which is good for us!!!

Cruise now has almost 200 players and still a few cabins left

18+ is correct.

also i now know the ME structure is 5k starting chips, 40min levels and 25/25 starting blinds. Not too bad, not too great.

Too bad. If thats the ME structure I think ill have to pass this one up. I would have like to play some of the prelem events but i guess i could just flip for 250$ and have as much fun if those strucures reflect the ME....

compared to the side tournies they were running at pca with 20min levels, this is a super slow structure. Also it's only a 2500 buyin, so pretty std for that level

I just won a satellite that awarded me a seat to this event along with travel accomodations... so I guess I'll more than likely be there.
