Re: A9o BB
If you think your opponents flop bet meant that he had a king or a nine, then you have to bet the river. If it was something like Q hearts, J clubs, then the check would be preferable.
He is pretty aggressive, that might mean that he makes lots of tactical raises, and he might have raised here with the queen of hearts, and something else. You might be able to induce a bluff often enough that checking here would be preferable to betting. But, you were at the table and you have a better sense than we would about how this guy plays. I like the threebet, and the turn bet, against an aggressive player. I think that against a passive player, you might have played this more conservatively on every street. |

Re: A9o BB
Against a player with a lot of possible hands given his % range preflop, I like your play on flop and turn. On the river I value bet here and think hard if raised but I doubt we get raised here by a worse hand.

He could have all kinds of things that he will bet on the river but will fold to a lead bet. |

Re: A9o BB
the problem with checking and trying to induce a bluff is that there aren't that many hands he could be bluffing with since you hold the A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. most players wouldnt raise this kind of board with a naked Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] though i suppose a gutterball like Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Jx or Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]Tx is possible but your check makes it look like you are ready to call so i think it is actually kind of rare that players would bluff here.
i would fire again on the river. |
