Live game ettiquette?
Been playing online for the past 2 years, as well as home games usually weekly. Goin to vegas for a bday party and plan on playing live. Never played in a casino setting. What is the ettiquette as far as leaving the table if you bust someone in short time or take large amounts of $?

Re: Live game ettiquette?
say something like 'gotta go eat ill be back in an hour' then rack up your chips and go. its your money man you can do what you want with it. at least you will make them 'think' they might get a shot at it again in a little bit and they will prolly forget about you after a while anyway.

In Vegas? Who cares if you dine and dash. I think the hit and run tactics might be looked down upon in a local setting, but in Vegas there's usually always someone to take your place

Make sure your exit involves lots of shouting/dancing/trash talking. The locals love it. Oh and bonus points if you can spill a drink on the table on the way out.

If the game is short (in that your leaving might break it) take the big blind and let the other players know you have to leave on your next blind. This eliminates the bad vibe associated with having the player to your right eat a blind and see you leave. ~ Rick |

Also, it is a rule that if you cash out $YYY you are not allowed to sit back down at the same table within a period of time ( half hour to an hour, depending on the casino ) unless you bring all $YYY back to the table.

Re: Live game ettiquette?
Though I'm the king of the hit & run, if it's a short handed game that I'm getting into (say 3 or 4 handed) and I have to be somewhere soon (say a movie, BBQ, Strip Club, etc) ......
I'll tell'em when I sit down that I have to leave in a few minutes, win, lose or draw. For whatever reason, I like to tell'em if I'm leaving short but not at a full table. YMMV. Happy Pokering, Howard |

Re: Live game ettiquette?
no one thinks anything about it. i have seen players sit down at a table, never play a hand and get right up and sit at another or leave.
