Default Small overpair gets donked into 3-way

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Hold'em Cash Game
$0.05/$0.10 Blinds
6 Players
Lego Poker Hand Converter

Preflop: 8 8 ($0.15, 6 Players)
UTG folds, MP calls $0.10, Hero raises to $0.50, BTN folds, SB calls $0.45, BB folds, MP calls $0.40

Flop: 2 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($1.60, 3 Players)
SB checks, MP bets $1

What action to take? I only had 8 hands on villain at that point, so no reads.

I would raise & check it down. Fold if he is betting on turn/river.

I think we're ahead of the bettor's range on this obviously hard-to-hit flop (he could have a flush draw, 7x, Ax, air, or a worse PP), so I guess I would probably raise, largely because I really would like SB out of the pot. However, SB may fold anyway, and you're going to lose to a hand like QhJh more often than you'll beat it, so a case can be made for just calling.

Raise it on the flop...

He probably plays his draws aggressive... So don't give him the odds to draw cheaply...
