Default Bottom set against aggressive opponent

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.02 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

BB ($2.67)
UTG ($2.98)
MP ($1.60)
Button ($2.05)
Hero ($5.32)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 6, 6.
2 folds, Button raises to $0.08, Hero raises to $0.2, 1 fold, Button calls $0.12.

Flop: ($0.42) 9, 6, J (2 players)
Hero bets $0.25, Button calls $0.25.

Turn: ($0.92) A (2 players)
Hero checks, Button checks.

River: ($0.92) K (2 players)
Hero bets $0.5, Button raises to $1.6, Hero calls $1.10.

Final Pot: $4.12

The villain was very aggressive and has been overbetting the pot every chance he got in the previous hands. How do you guys like the line I took? Would you play it any differently? I'm not sure if checking the turn was the right thing to do but like I said he had been super aggressive.

Oh and the 1/2 pot bet on the flop was designed to look weak in hopes he would raise.

The turn check is a leak....pump up the pot while you know you're ahead and that board is sooooooooooooooo wet. You get called by two pairs, 78, QT, T8, etc etc etc.

Against a normal opponent I would bet this turn 95% of the time. This guy was just too aggressive though. I hear what you are saying though as he would definitely raise with any of the hands you mentioned. Thanks!

I bet the turn anyway, don't care how aggressive. If they're really aggressive they'll just raise it anyway.

Yeah and a checkraise on the turn from me looks super strong.
