100NL - 88 vs Shortstack
I have a big problem playing against shortstacks. There are a lot of them and I always seem to be the one who pays them off.
How should this hand be played against unknown villain? Should I have made smaller CB and fold to a CR, should I even make one? Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $123.40 UTG+1: $16 CO: $100 Hero: $98.50 SB: $129.45 BB: $90.70 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, CO folds, Hero raises to $4.5, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($10.5, 2 players) UTG+1 checks, Hero bets $8, UTG+1 raises all-in $11.5, Hero calls. |

Re: 100NL - 88 vs Shortstack
i generally check here, you are praying for KQ here...Check/folding is standard. If you have him beat I think a short stack will take a scared stance and check down not wanting to lose the rest of his bankroll on a stupid bluff. These guys generally play with their tail between their legs if they dont have top pair so that they can keep playing longer.

I always take the same line you took against people THAT short and I often see random stuff like A8 here. I think you played it fine, nothing you could do.

Re: 100NL - 88 vs Shortstack
Checking the flop can't be bad here. Depending on the texture of the board, I might just bet about half their remaining stack instead of standard cbet size, but at that point, I'm thinking just check behind, mostly giving up.
