This is a 500 FPP tourney to the Sunday Million on stars. Why I put myself through 4 hours of play to win my 500 FPPs back is beyond me but I think this hand played on the other table wasn't above board and my have effected the overall out come of the satellite.
There are 15 seats to the million with 17 players left. I was currently in 14th place but blinds are huge and stacks are short so play is push or fold for the most part. Shorties have been surviving and I wasn't confortable by any stretch. It also just so happens that 3 of the players at the other table have the exact same avatar. Looks like some kind of blue sky. The SB and BB are 2 such players. Maybe I'm wrong here but when is this ever a fold for the SB? Anyway here is the hand: PokerStars Game #9192249981: Tournament #46154864, 500FPP Hold'em No Limit - Level XIV (2000/4000) - 2007/04/01 - 01:46:18 (ET) Table '46154864 21' 9-max Seat #4 is the button Seat 1: MilesMassey (49214 in chips) Seat 2: pawrock46 (12109 in chips) Seat 3: deadmoney (24632 in chips) Seat 4: carlao16 (29500 in chips) Seat 5: angry tomato (56006 in chips) Seat 6: Devo511 (9552 in chips) Seat 7: JCM22 (70154 in chips) Seat 8: mitch ling (32841 in chips) is sitting out Seat 9: herbdizzle (32045 in chips) MilesMassey: posts the ante 200 pawrock46: posts the ante 200 deadmoney: posts the ante 200 carlao16: posts the ante 200 angry tomato: posts the ante 200 Devo511: posts the ante 200 JCM22: posts the ante 200 mitch ling: posts the ante 200 herbdizzle: posts the ante 200 angry tomato: posts small blind 2000 Devo511: posts big blind 4000 *** HOLE CARDS *** JCM22: folds mitch ling: folds herbdizzle: folds MilesMassey: folds pawrock46: folds deadmoney: folds carlao16: folds angry tomato is disconnected angry tomato has timed out while disconnected angry tomato: folds angry tomato is sitting out Devo511 collected 5800 from pot Devo511: doesn't show hand *** SUMMARY *** Total pot 5800 | Rake 0 Seat 1: MilesMassey folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 2: pawrock46 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 3: deadmoney folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 4: carlao16 (button) folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 5: angry tomato (small blind) folded before Flop Seat 6: Devo511 (big blind) collected (5800) Seat 7: JCM22 folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 8: mitch ling folded before Flop (didn't bet) Seat 9: herbdizzle folded before Flop (didn't bet) |

why wouldn't it be a std fold? sb has no obligation to knock someone out for you. def not collusion.

Ok, makes sense. Just looked strange to see a 55k stack give a shorty a walk for 5k more.
Struck me with the 3 exact same avatars too. Just dumb luck they are all the same and all together. |

I would probably fold anything but QQ+ in the SBs spot but I am by no means a satellite expert.
You should read the satellite threads in the anthology sticky atop the page. |

Cornell I'm no expert by any stretch and proper satellite move is to fold most hands but in this case the SB was playing a lot of hands. A lot more than one probably should but then has a change of heart and gives the Shorty a walk.
Maybe he just disconnected and I read too much into it because of my own frustration with my satellite table. |

I'm fairly certain that the blue sky avatar is just a standard AOL (or some other providers) avatar so I wouldn't read anything into that.

while it is proper strategy to try to bust the short stack here, he can still fold if he wants to.
