B&M 3/6 suited A-7 hand
Typical live 3/6 game.
Couple limpers to me in MP and I call with suited A-7. Few more limpers behind me, blinds check, 6 of us to the flop. Flop Q Q A rainbow, one of my suit. It gets checked to the guy on my right, he bets out and I call. Two others call and four of us see the turn. Turn (Q Q A)K completing rainbow Guy on the right bets out again and I call. Heads up to the river. Turn (Q Q A K) 7 He bets, I call. I think not raising this flop was terrible. |

Can we just fold this flop? [/ QUOTE ] No. With no evidence that we're beaten, and in a game where our kicker might be good...no. |

I think not raising this flop was terrible. [/ QUOTE ] I like raising the flop. It makes the hand easier to play from there on out. If we raise, any cold-caller behind us is very suspicious. If an aggressive bettor 3-bets, we can call and pray for a huge card (K, Q) on the turn to give us a likely chop. If a tighter player 3-bets, then we have to trust out instincts. They may put you on the Q if they don't have one. |

raising the flop would be a bad play. you already have Aces up, so basically all you have to fear is a Queen (in which case you're beaten already) or a gutshot, which is an 11-1 dog to complete on the turn. i like the call.

[/ QUOTE ] I disagree that raising the flop is a "bad" play. However your idea of calling down allows us to win the most/lose the least if there's a chance he'll lead with something else. Of course, if we're talking about losing the least, raising the flop, checking behind on the turn to the inevitable check-raise on the turn, and calling the river costs us 2 bets vs. 2.5 bets. And we get to see villain react to our flop raise. |
