Excel Formula Question... What\'s wrong with my formula? (if, then)
I've been building a real estate model for a class using excel. Although I've gotten much better at excel since this semester, I still can't get this formula to work and I've been fiddling with it a while...
=IF(Assumptions!L8=3,'First Mortgage'!G29:G40+'Second Mortgage'!G29:G40+'Third Mortgage'!G29:G40,IF(Assumptions!L8=2,'First Mortgage'!G29:G40+'Second Mortgage'!G29:G40,IF(Assumptions!L8=1,'First Mortgage'!G29:G40,0))) I've tried several different forms of this formula. It always says #VALUE! Excel Help is not much help Any advice is appreciated! Clark |

Re: Excel Formula Question... What\'s wrong with my formula? (if, then)
Because you are acting upon multiple sets of values and wanting to display the result in one cell you'll need to set the cell as an array.
To do this press F2 on the cell containing the formula (to bring up the formula bar) then press 'Ctrl-Shift-Enter' to set the cell as an array. |
