Stud / 8 - WSOP tourney turnouts for \'07
Not sure if this is the proper forum, but how many entries are expected for the $1000, $2000, and $3000 stud/8 events this year?
Thanks, Kirk |

Nobody seems to know. There is a lot of speculation as to the effect that the decline of internet poker will have on the player pool. Also, they are all 3-day events now. Playing poker three days in a row at the Rio is my personal definition of Hell.

[ QUOTE ]
475 for the 1K 342 for the 2K and 182 for the 3K [/ QUOTE ] The changes to the online poker landscape will affect mostly the main event, and to a much lesser extent other televised events. "Minor" events like these shouldn't be affected at all. If anything, I expect more entries, because the later events don't start until 5pm, 5 hours after the early event of the day, instead of 2 hours after like last year. A lot more players will be busting out of the noon events in time to register for the late one. I'd guess 802, 590, and 333 entries for the 1K, 2K, and 3K stud/8 events, respectively. |

yeah, that's what I figured, 800-900 for $1000, 400-500 for $2000, and 200-400 for $3000.

Re: Stud / 8 - WSOP tourney turnouts for \'07
The structure sheet on the $1K (Event 46) shows it to be a 2-day event, not three. A question on the new SHOE event: The structure sheet lists the games as Stud, Hold 'em, Omaha, and Stud 8. Is it really possible that the Omaha component is high-only?

Omaha/8 is the standard "O" in rotation games, and limit high-only games are pretty rare. Most American players understand "Omaha" to be limit O/8.
