Default has anyone played texes holdem by thereself?

What i do is suffle a deck and deal out 9 hands face up and then i deal the flop turn and river. I'll do this over and over again and study all the cards. This helps me to see the range of different hands that are possable. This kinda helps me with my game overall. Has anyone ever tried this?

I do this all the time with many poker games. I keep a deck near the chair in the living room and practice. I think it helps me a bit.

When you just start it sure helps you get a grasp for the frequency in which certain hands you don't want to see are dealt to anyone at the table. And you can try to make the best decision for all players if they do NOT see eachothers cards and if they do. See what mistakes they make according to the fundamental theorem (everytime someone plays his cards different from when he had seen all the cards the other player(s) gain).

Maybe try playing two or more play money tables? It will get more hands out to you to give you the feel of how often hands hit what, albiet a little roughly.

Also, all the HU you can stand goes a long way.

I find that to be very good practice along with calculating odds and outs with the hands. I actually stumbled upon a concept while dealing out an Omaha hand. 6h 7d 8s 9d vs Jh 9h Kc 3s board = 3h 6c Ks 8h. When you calculate the odds from the standpoint of the first hand you conclude that your chances of hitting an out is 10/44 = .2272 (22.72%), but when I ran it through the odds calculater on CardPlayer.com it said I had a 25% chance of winning, which made me think I missed an out [11/44 = .25]. I was confused, so I worked my way through it and it's easy to see that when both hands are considered your chances are 10/40 = .25 (25%). At first I didn't know why, but it became clear to me that as more cards that don't help me were accounted for my odds improved. It's a simple concept, but I'll never forget it because I worked my way through it and really understood it in a hands on way.

I have a Palm TX and bought a texas hold-em game
for $20. I can play almost anywhere. I have not
been playing long so this helps. I am almost
through "Small Stakes Hold 'em" and will start
"No Limit Hold 'em". The Palm game "Aces Texas
Hold'em - No Limit" (Concrete Software) shows
that I am learning something.

I sometimes will even go as far as to tip myself when I make a really good hand.

Actually, right before I go to the card room to play, I'll deal some hands of the game I am going to play just to get a pre session feel going. Kind of poker foreplay
