I tried to keep playing while talking to them, but that didn't work well at all. I lost a buy-in, plus the chicks left almost immediately because they didn't want to bother me. From now on, I think I'll just finish the hands that I'm playing and then sit out.

I'm assuming similar situations come up a lot...what do you do when this happens?

Assuming they're good looking enough to talk to, the second option is standard I'd say in a polite-human-interaction sort of way.
