Default The one where I get a big stack allin against Rizen holding 44

$11r on Stars. Don't have the hand history w/ me, sorry. Blinds are 200/400. I have about 40K, and am in the top 5% of the field. Fairly tough table, including Rizen and locutus2002. I limp in EMP after another limper, holding 44. 3 more limps. Rizen (32K) on the button, pops it up to 4400. Folds to me, and I jam. Thoughts?

I do not like this very much. 44 is only a good hand if its a cheap flop because you must get away from it very quickly if you do not get the set. Pushing drops the value very very much, especially with all the limpers after you. The best you are hoping for is a coin flip - and do you really want to risk 32K on a coin flip? no, wait for a better spot, especially if you are doing that well in the field.

- is rebuy period over? I do not play rebuys so this is completely based on having the rebuy period over, which I think has happened with blinds at 200/400

I dunno...I tend to never believe that people limp behind a limper w/ a big hand, so I would be calling a little more liberally here if I were Rizen.

honestly if you're not great, this is fine because its a good value spot and its a very tough table and this keeps you from getting outplayed in a tricky hand at a later time.

Yeah, this is a good point. This probably decreases my fold equity over hands like 88 or whatever, and would be better off if I had limped first in.

I guess my questions here are: how often would one guess that Rizen has:
1) total air just pwning all the dead money
2) a solid hand, but one where he might not call a jam
3) a big hand that he calls with that I am slightly ahead (AK)
4) a big pair and me drawing to two outs.

At the time, I put his call range at around TT+, AQ+. This may have been overly optimistic due to the factor you mentioned of not limping a big hand behind another.

Fold.

I remember this hand and I was surprised that Rizen raised so much with aces on the button. You are not even getting set value to call. Also, you were the first limper.

Rizen is a rock, 10/9 on my PT.

This is a great play if limped behind with aces, but it looks like what it is, a small pp.

I wouldn't be sure what rizen has, but it doesn't matter, Soss and Kramer have it right. This is a pretty easy fold.
