Default AKo - Turn Decision

Limit: 1/2 (10 Handed)

Villain likes to bet flops he connects with irrespective of position and previous betting action

Preflop: Hero is UTG+2 with A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
1 fold, <font color="red"> UTG+2 bets </font>, <font color="red"> Hero Raises </font>, 7 folds, UTG+2 calls

Flop(7.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players)
UTG+2 checks, <font color="red"> Hero bets </font>, <font color="red"> UTG+2 Raises </font>, Hero calls

Turn: (5.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
<font color="red"> UTG+2 bets </font>, Hero ???

Given the read on villain is this too marginal to call?

i probably fold.

chances are he doesnt have the guts to c/r the flop with TT or below, caps QQ+ preflop, doesnt raise straight draws to begin with....

leaving KJ and AJ being the majority of his range.

we likely have 3 outs and no idea what they are, i probably just fold now.

I think you could 3-bet the flop if you're almost certain that it will buy you a free card. But against most opponents I'd call the flop and fold the turn also.

So what you're saying is that he has at least a pair of jacks? And you're wondering if you should fold getting 6:1 when you're probably reverse-dominated?

Correct.
Which is why i discounted my 6 over cards to 3 outs and folded.
I just need to re assure myself about my plays and my understanding of poker concepts sometimes.
No where better to be shown the light than on these good boards.

Yep, I fold this turn unless there are about twice as many bets (somewhere around 10) in the pot.

I would like to point out that you shouldn't discount your outs to 3. I think you have a minimum of three and a maximum of 6 (assuming villan doesn't hold something funky like 54 and A4).

I am assuming that where the converter says "UTG+2 Bets" preflop, that means limp?

Interesting. I was under the impression that in this spot, where villain raised pre flop, that AK could be discounted to 3 outs for the times I catch an A or K and still lose.
Am i wrong here?

:grunch:

i'd probably fold to the flop c/r. you're in a pretty marginal situation with solely 2OCs. Either he connected that flop or has a decent PP. not sure your 3 outs from the combined partial out value of your OCs is worth calling a second bet for. yeah, it's 10:1 or so when you complete the action, but it seems to me that you should think of the other bet you already put in...

as played, the turn is an easy fold. what are you hoping for?
