Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. 4 folds, Hero raises, 1 fold, SB calls, 1 fold. Flop: (5 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero caps, SB calls. Turn: (6.50 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero raises, SB 3-bets, Hero calls. River: (12.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 14.50 BB My thoughts on each round: PREFLOP:I am fine with this raise. From CO and with no bets prior, it's raise or fold here, right? I think this raise is pretty standard, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong. FLOP: Jackpot! Flop hits me quite nicely, and the donk even bets into me! I thought about slow-playing, but then I thought better of it. Let's build this pot right now! A 3bet, huh? Did I get so lucky? Does opponenet have J9 or something? Sweet. Let's cap it. Standard cap? TURN: Whoa, he bets into me again! One more time, let's bump it up sucka. Hmm, a 3bet again huh? Umm...ok. That's cool, I guess? Wait, what's that taste in my mouth? Bile? Hmm...I guess he's got a Jack, I think to myself. But he woulda re-popped me PF if he had AJ, thinking I was simply trying top steal, right? Maybe KJ? Hmm, I hope not. I think it's quite possible that he has a smaller J. Maybe 66 too, not sure at this point. RIVER: Uggh, this guy sure ain't afraid. I think at this point, villian has shown me more than enough aggression to make me slow down. So I call. Overall, what do you think? Should I have 3bet the River? Should I have just called the Turn? any other thoughts? PokerStars 0.50/1.00 Hold'em (9 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Preflop: Hero is CO with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. MP1 posts a blind of $0.50. MP2 posts a blind of $0.50. UTG calls, 1 fold, MP1 (poster) checks, MP2 (poster) checks, 1 fold, Hero raises, 3 folds, UTG calls, MP1 calls, MP2 folds. Flop: (8.50 SB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players) UTG bets, MP1 folds, Hero raises, UTG calls. Turn: (6.25 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets, Hero calls. River: (8.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) UTG bets, Hero calls. Final Pot: 10.25 BB Again, my thoughts: PREFLOP: I was really unsure about this raise. But with a couple of new players sitting down and posting right away OOP, I thought a raise would be good here. OK? FLOP: Pretty beautiful flop for my TT, I thought. Nice, he bets into me. Standard raise, I think. He calls. Good. TURN: Eww, this card kinda worried me - especially when he now donks the Turn, after I raised him on the Flop. To me, it was screaming A5s or something like that. My cursor hovered above the FOLD button for a while, and then, maybe foolishy, I called the bet. I guess I started to think that 66-99 were possible holdings. RIVER: At this point, even though a flush was possible, I didn't feel like folding for one more bet was a great play, so I hesitantly make the call. My real question here is if a fold on the Turn would have been the more correct play. I think realistically, there are more mid-pair hands that he could be holding, than there are hands with a 5 or 2 - but ya never know at this level. |
