Pot Odds v Holding
In tournament play, how important are pot odds when your holding nothing? Say I have 8 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and am being offered great pot odds to call in a late position(say 5-1) then I'll always have a swing at it but sometimes i'll feel myself getting a little uncomfortable - like being blinded away. Is it sometimes better just to let these nothing hands go, regardless of pot odds?

Read your other thread that you've started here, and take a very close look at this reply from Grunch:

Calling here would be anm unmitigated disaster. Probably the fishiest thing I've seen all week.

Re: Pot Odds v Holding
So - just to be absolutley clear here - the payoff that comes with hitting the occasional pair or trip in no way compensates for all the cards you toss in the interim. Let's say with a 70% chance that there will be no raises behind you?

You need 10:1 to call with 82o.

No, the payoff isn't worth it. Even if you only put additional chips in if you hit two-pair or trips you are leaking money like a sieve.
