Help with AJ out of position 1.10

I had been recently moved to this table. I raised up the AJ as it was getting later in the tournament and I was loosening up. Need some help though as to how to play it. Standard cont bet, then turn comes, do i bet? and if I dont and he bets or if he checks?

I struggle in these spots as well.

That flop texture doesnt look like he is on a draw to me so his hand may already be made. I would check fold the turn. You took a shot on the flop and he called so he doesnt look like he is going anywhere.

What's the buyin for this tournament? Against a competent player, I probably wouldn't even c-bet this flop, because he isn't going to call you pre-flop planning to give up on flops like this. You need to decide on the flop whether you are giving up, and if not, you should know when you bet how you plan to win the pot on future streets in the very likely scenario that he calls.

Against a less good opponent whom you know will call preflop too loosely and fold any flop that misses him, your line is good and you should fold now.

agreed. i think yo uneed to have some sense of the villain. if he's good, this flop is a ckeck, as a bet will always give him the power. if he raises what would you do? he called and you still don't know what to do. if he sucks, i like your line as well.

folding preflop is one way to avoid getting stuck in hands like this. Also, raising 2.5BB is not good utg. If you plan on playing you want to discourage people behind you from jumping in the pot, raise 3-4BB instead of the small raise.
As for the flop bet, no good player is going to fold here when you fire a c-bet at a ragged board like that. They are floating you with overs and any pair. I would probably check the flop and see what he does. when you get in situations like this (OOP on a board you missed) you need to evaluate what you know about your opponent and either decide how you're going to try to win the pot or get away the cheapest.
