Default I spike my river and get checkraised all in?

Guy is new to the table, only been around an orbit or two - no stats yet. I didn't notice anything strange in those 10 hands or whatever, but he seems tightish so far.

Ultimate Bet
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.50./$1.
6 players
Converter

Stack sizes:
UTG: $100
UTG+1: $26.55
Hero: $98
Button: $116
SB: $94.25
BB: $95.85

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises to $4.5, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, UTG+1 folds.

Limper was a weak player, pretty standard - couple more came along than I wanted though

Flop: 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($15, 3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $12, Button folds, BB calls.

Flopped top pair, standard cbet, yawn.

Turn: 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($39, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero checks.

Guy is unknown, I bet a fair amount here, but wanted a bit of pot control so we weren't playing for stacks on the river. Debatable, but I figure it will induce a weaker pair to call the river - maybe a busted draw will bluff out, yada yada.

River: Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($39, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $15, BB raises all-in $79.35, Hero folds.
Uncalled bets: $64.35 returned to BB.

When he checks, I figure he can't be strong at all, and make this tiny bet because given the action so far I didn't think I could get a big bet called. Then, what the hell? Wouldn't a decent pair just call? Seems to me he either has a busted draw, or AQ/boat. Could he just be doing it because my river bet looks sketchy? Look it up or fold?

This was my first thought, but I don't if I ever get checkraised on the river at 100NL and showdown a winner, you know?

look it up just because you kinda played it strange, and I don't know why he would have checked the river with a hand that has you beat. You're hand is pretty under repped so I could see him thinking he can make you fold a T or something. Its close though.

Why aren't you betting the turn?

As played, tough to fold... You practically induced a bluff with such a pussy bet.

ugly turn check.. gives him a free card to draw and you don't even have a strong hand. River is a call, I don't see how you can fold vs. an unknown.

This guy checked the turn and then pulls a CR on river. Looks to me like you are trying to justify the squeeze on the river. If you wanted to see if you were wa/wb then why don't you take a b/c line on turn and reevaluate the river?

It does help, just because it makes a bluff a lot less likely. Just think about all the people on here that see little bets like that and think thin value and just re-pop.
