Default AA vs ZBTHorton (Weird Bet, O NOEZ!)

Villain is ZBTHorton (mod of MTTc)
This is early in my session, but here is what I can assume:
ZBT knows I am 2+2, knows I am a thinking player, and that I am pretty TAG. He knows I know what a squeeze is and when/who to use it against.

He is 26/20

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (6 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Hero ($108)
SB ($57.40)
BB ($127.90)
UTG ($254.15)
MP ($103.50)
CO ($114.35)

Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP raises to $4, CO calls $4, Hero raises to $16, 2 folds, MP calls $12, CO folds.

Flop: ($37.50) 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players)
MP bets $28.5, Hero

well, i mean to say, he thinks he has a ridic amount of FE versus your range of TT+, AQ+

which is why he, and people that play like him, make these really obvious bets with pair+draw or a draw.

of course, it also gives him leeway to make this bet with a set, but you're way good here enough that u must shove, and moreso from a metagame perspective because if he thinks he can just do this more often to blow you off the hand, then he will own you postflop even when you have position.

Good post. I was more interested in his thought process and interpretation of my range. I am very unaccustomed to the "call 3bet(or squeeze) OOP and lead flop" line, as I have almost never seen it.

Just one question... if your selling the squeeze why are you making a standard re-raise here? That doesn't really matter though, but just something that stuck out.

I think this is a push. It could be a set, pair with draw, combo draw, overpair, pure bluff.... When I played 200NL with villan, he did a similar line with a set so buyer beware.

His range is massive.

Assuming he is good, or at least that he plays like me. He'll do this with any draw, pair/draws, or sets/nuts. It also makes his call of your shove more mathematically sound while taking an aggressive route with his draw-pair/draw type hands.

Results would be interesting just for kicks if you don't mind.

Why is he betting instead of check/shoving?

Isn't check/shove better than leading with atc?
