Default I think he has Aces (not a PF KK hand)

My question isn't with how I played this hand, because I feel that it is fine. The question is:
How large do the effective stacks have to be before I should start caring that his play seems pretty suspicious? Villain has been playing 45/18 for the 50 hands I have on him.

No, it isn't at all. OP, I don't think I'm folding this here ever against this opponent.

EDIT: I misread the action. Him checking the flop and opening up is top set a LOT. I think you can make a case for just calling the turn and reevaluating on the river. I'd like to think I'm good enough to fold at about~300bb deep.

[hijack] You need to stop letting your ego get involved if you want to learn. These forums are filled with players much better than either you or me, I suggest you listen to them.

This post is different from yours because of the bet-sizing and the flop action. In your hand you played it so passively you never really had a chance to see where you were at. In this hand, OP is letting his opponent know he's very strong and yet he is still getting played back at. There is a difference. DUCY? [/hijack]

Default Aces lol

I agree its suspicious, he minraises pre, check-minraises flop. He likes his hand, no doubt.

But as long as I can see 99 AJ and possibly AK or totally misplayed QQ/KK I would never fold it.

I think if you were deeper, say 200BB (just made the number up) you should 3bet the flop and see if he has aces. But even then I couldnt lay it down.
