Mathmeticians prove vampires don\'t exist
But they also note that the "Buffy" universe was possible due to the slayers keeping the vampires in check.
No such thing as vampires |

Re: Mathmeticians prove vampires don\'t exist
What an awful article. Vampires are obviously aware of the doubling effect and try to keep their numbers in check. Sometimes they just straight up kill their victims instead of turning them into more vampires. And as you pointed out, obviously Buffy and other slayers are keeping them in check.
This was obviously not done by scientists, as the article states, because they have no grasp of a population equilibrium. |

The vampires understand how big to keep their herd. Zombies are what I am worried about in this day and age.

Re: Mathmeticians prove vampires don\'t exist
major flaw in their logic is that the population is not goig to go down by one person whole when one person dies.
I believe that the global population increases something like three people a second. |

Re: Mathmeticians prove vampires don\'t exist
I read an article like that, but way better and more entertaining, a few years ago. I'll try to find if it still exists and I still have the link. Anyway, it took into account biological concepts and tried to find the carrying capacity of Sunnydale's vampire population. Yeah, I'm a big Buffy fan.

Yeah, I'm not on board with this whole "vampires don't exist" bs. Don't vampires control blood banks (as in Blade), so they don't have to kill to get blood?

[ QUOTE ]
They assume, for the sake of argument, that a vampire needs to feed "only once a month", and that in the course of feeding, the vampire turns its victim into another vampire. [/ QUOTE ] Bad assumption before they even get started. Everyone knows that as a rule vampires don't turn their victims. |
