So I'm thinking about buying a decent camera for a marginal amount of money, something under 300. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions or warnings on brands to stay away from. I'm looking at this one
![]() It's Olympus FE220, 7.1 MP and has a lithium ion battery since I hate buying batteries all the time. any advice would be greatly appreciated, and as a pre-emptive show of gratitude, ta-ta's. ![]() |

I've seen photos from both a 6MP canon point and shoot and a 6MP Olympus, and both are good. I wouldn't hesitate to buy either if I was in the market.. I think my sister has the canon and my friend's fiance has the olympus, or something.. whatever, I've used both anyway. Both are good.
Unless you are a camera junky, which you are not since you are looking for a point and shoot instead of an SLR (read the tdarko thread), just buy one and it will work for you.. if it doesn't, blame somebody other than me. |

Get whatever canon you like in that price range.
Something like an SD630/SD700/etc probably. www.dpreview.com www.steves-digicams.com |

It really depends on what you want to do with the camera.
I have a Sony cybershot dsc-n2, it cost me around 350 euro`s. Quality of the pictures is good, movies are great(sound quality also), only disadvantage is when you make dark pictures without flashes(during concerts or something) it`s hard to get a steady shot. But that`s something all compact camera`s have i think. |
