Need Some Opinions On Moving Into A New Place
I'm moving to San Diego, which I had originally planned on doing it in June, but I really have no reason to stay in Pittsburgh so pushed that date up to May. I've been firing out emails to different people on craigslist and roommates.com looking to rent a room. I've got a lot of responses but it seems like each one is unique.
My problem right now is I'd really love to live close to the beach, however most of the people I've had contact with I have personality conflicts with (such as them being 420 friendly). The places closer to the beach tend to be a little less nice also. I then got a message from a guy who doesn't live right by the beach or the nightlife I'm interested in, however he pretty much fits everything I'm looking for in a roomie. He's also a sports junkie and into poker so I'm sure we'd get along great. The place is really nice, but is a little bit steep in my mind because of the distance to the beach. For overall happiness, what do you look for in a new place? What is most important to you? |

Re: Need Some Opinions On Moving Into A New Place
if you were planning to be within walking distance from the beach i don't think it should make too big a difference whether you end up being 15 minutes away vs 30 minutes away. and 30 minutes is about the max you could possibly be away from the beach in san diego. i live in the mountains in the eastern part of the county and it takes me about that long to get there. it sounds like you have a good place already lined up.

"into poker" = "let me tell you about this time my cowboys lost to a guy playing an 8 and a 7"

Quiet and clean are my two most important qualities in roommates/location.

Having a good roommate is a really great thing. Don't let yourself get jacked on the rent though, check it out.
