Blind AKu
Cryptologic
Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $2/$4 4 players Converter This is one of several hands we played shorthanded(4-6 players) at a full ring table. Button is 80/47/.5 after about 50 hands. Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG raises, Button calls, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, UTG calls, Button calls. Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img](8.5SB, 3 players) Hero bets, UTG folds, Button calls. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img](5.25BB, 2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. River: A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img](7.25BB, 2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero calls. Results: Final pot: 9.25BB I often find it tough to decide how far to push overs, particularly AKu. Should I have played this slower? |

Re: Blind AKu
Why c/c when you finally hit your ace HU? I think you gotta bet out on the river here. Villain looks like a good calling station for this vb.

Re: Blind AKu
No reason to slow down once you make your hand. Fire away.

Re: Blind AKu
I'd really like to hear your reasoning behind that river c/c.

Re: Blind AKu
Especially against this guy - with his profile, you seem unlikely to induce a bluff against a hand that would fold to your bet.

Re: Blind AKu
My apologies, having read the responses I now realize the villain was pre-flop raising 4.7% not 47%. I do believe that makes him a passive player who wants to see every flop.
What does this change? Again, sorry for the misprint and thank-you for your responses thus far. |

Re: Blind AKu
I don't see how it changes anything unless you had a lot more sample than 50 hands. Yeah that's low but after 50 hands he may have only had 4 or so that were good premiums and you're still ahead of some of these (AQ, AJ, AT). I really don't see how this changes our river line at all. If he's got a pp then he's paying you off and if he's got Ace with a weaker kicker you're getting paid off and may even make more if he raises. The only conceivable thing that would suck here is AJ.
