what would you do....
I was playing in a tournament on PS against 19 people where 1st prize was a paid trip to Monte Carlo.
I think I was 5th out of 12 remaining when this happens: Seat 2: 2 (820 in chips) Seat 3: 3 (3090 in chips) Seat 4: Villain (2605 in chips) Seat 5: 5 (3130 in chips) Seat 6: 6 (2070 in chips) Seat 7: Hero (2660 in chips) 6: posts small blind 50 Hero: posts big blind 100 *** HOLE CARDS *** Dealt to Hero [Ah Ks] 2: folds 3: folds Villain: calls 100 5: folds 6: folds Hero: raises 200 to 300 Villain: calls 200 *** FLOP *** [Jd Qs Jh] What would you do? The next thrilling part of this hand will be forthcoming shortly... |

Re: what would you do....
I would raise to more like 400 or 500 preflop. I dont mind taking it down right now as we have to play out of position. That flop is pretty damn bad for you. Hands that would limp call include 67s-KQs. He could have picked up any number of draws, and I am probably just checking this flop. If he checks behind I will probably fire on the turn.

Re: what would you do....
Yeah, reasonable point. So, not only did I not raise enough preflop, I then went on to fire a continuation bet on the flop trying to take the pot then and there - trying to gauge his hand (or even better to take the pot if he missed).
Hero: bets 400 Villain: calls 400 *** TURN *** [Jd Qs Jh] [Td] Now you would? |

Re: what would you do....
that was a bit garbled. I meant I fired at the flop to either try and take the pot down OR to work out what he might have.

Re: what would you do....
Ok, so then I...
Hero: bets 800 Villain: calls 800 What would you put villain on now? Should I have gone all in (assuming 2 pair)? |

Re: what would you do....
Alright, I can sense a lack of interest so I will finish off:
*** RIVER *** [Jd Qs Jh Td] [Js] At this stage I know I am buggered. Villain: bets 500 Hero: calls 500 *** SHOW DOWN *** Villain: shows [Qc Kh] (a full house, Jacks full of Queens) |
