Default Accepted to Georgetown

I was just accepted to Georgetown last week for grad school. Beyond immediately changing my NCAA pool, I have done little research at all. I will be starting in the fall. I haven't been to DC since I was a kid w/ the family, so I was just wondering if anyone had anything to offer about this school.

I'm looking into what part of the city to move to, whether or not I need a car, etc. Hopefully gonna visit in two weeks or so, and move down sometime in the summer.

The thread title might be a bit misleading, but I think his questions certainly merit a new thread.

Hopefully I can answer the part of your question regarding transportation.

I spent 5 weeks on that campus for a summer program in hs, and never needed a car. The metro system in DC can take you pretty much anywhere, and a Georgetown student ID gives you access to a bus/trolley system that will take you between the campus and a few popular spots like Union Station and the monuments.

Your student ID also gives you free access to a specific cab service between the campus and off-campus student apartments. It's been 5 years since I've been there, so I'm sketchy on the details, but the cabs were super convenient for transportation between drunken parties and the dorms.

Yea, sorry if misleading. I was def more concerned with getting some DC/Gtown info than bragging.

Also, is there any Pok*r in the area? clubs? limit?

Congrats, Georgetown is the nuts.

You definitely won't need a car in Georgetown, and it would probably be more trouble than it's worth.

I'm more concerned about you changing your NCAA pool since the tourney is underway.
