Big sexy blind special...
Game's pretty loose, pretty typical for a mid-limit game. I'm running cold, but haven't been at this table that long.
4 limpers to me and I peek down at K6o to disguise my strength. The flop is a wonderful rainbow of K 8 6. I bet out and get 3 callers because I don't play at a level where they respect my bets and raises. Turn is an Ace - I check... -d |

Re: Big sexy blind special...
unless you know the player on your left is going to bet, i don't see why a screwplay is better here than just betting and hoping to 3bet.

seems like whenever i try this move I get nailed by an A8 or A6.

Re: Big sexy blind special...
I'd rather bet the turn. Hopefully someone will raise behind you.

Re: Big sexy blind special...
so you think the ace will scare them? i guess one of the 3 flop callers is reasonably aggro? i'm not yet convinced betting isn't better. given that it's live i can certainly be swayed, though.

Re: Big sexy blind special...
Unless you are extremely confident that someone will bet this, I think leading out is better. Against 3 players, I really don't want to take the chance of this checking through on the turn.

Re: Big sexy blind special...
Here's my thinking --
In my experience, if someone bets the Ace again here in my position, they can beat it a lot of the time and you won't see a raise here most of the time. However, these same people love to peel flops, and I think the Ace likely hit -someone-, while if they don't have an Ace, they're drawing almost dead against my top and bottom pair. In short, I think the Ace gets bet a lot, but almost never raised by a hand that doesn't beat me (but that I likely have to call down or 3-bet anyway). -d |
