The minraise pre and crai looks like a big pair but is there any way i can fold? I hate hands like these where it looks like i have to play but they seem to be costing me a bit atm

i dont have a problem with this, the minraise could mean a lot of things you just have to make a note of what it means for this guy, i.e it could be KQ or AK or something. if you keep playing this way against shorties you'll be surprised what kind of junk turns up

Is this the only time he's reraised? If he has an overpair, the you're only going to win 20% of the time. So you certainly don't have implied odds. But if he could have AKs as well then you're probably okay.

A read would help. Is he tight or laggy?

On a related note regarding shortstacks-
I've gotten into the questionable practice of frequently putting in small stacks anytime I play with them. If they reraise me, I just push. (if his stats are like 8/3... then I don't. But the LAGGY shortstacks... screw em. I fold or push (assuming its headsup).) Since they're bad, I'm happy if they have a bigger stack (because its outside their comfort zone) and if I stack them then that's even better.

It helps my image too.

Against a shortstack you're usually holding the nuts here.

Shorty was laggy so i like aj here. I like kurtos idea here if he has like 10 or 12 i might push. I'd rather not push for 17 here tho. What sort of image are you trying to get across, that you have a zero tolerance policy towards shorties? I might start experimenting with this a bit.....

it's not a zero tolerance policy, you don't get involved preflop without solid values. But if I hit the flop in a decent way (as in here), i probablly won't fold when they're this short. Doubling up shorties isnt that bad if they stick around, because they're likely to stack off to you later on

I see shortstacks do this with TPNK soo much times, or even things like second pair no kicker or ace high. easy push/call allin with tptk
