Default Rookie Investing Questions : CBRL

I don’t understand a lot about investing but I do recall that Warren Buffet advocated investing in companies that you are familiar with and believe in.
My layman’s spin is something like this….
I’ve always been impressed with Cracker Barrel, all the stores are company owned, no franchises so it appears to me that the quality is the same regardless at which one you visit. Their stock price seems to have a long steady upwards movement and you basic data like a P/E is 10.46, so what kind of deals do I need to really understand before jumping on board, any other general advice regarding this stock/investing would be appreciated.
Cracker Barrel = CBRL

Spend 1-2 hours a week until you understand the company's plans and financials 99.9%.

P/E ratios are useless in evaluating companies. Read Cracker Barrel's annual report and find out as much as you can about the business. Learn how to read financial statements and look at a company's fundamentals.
