200NL Full Stacks: All in Pre Flop on QJs?
This was an interesting if rather unique situation. Villain is 60/25 and a complete maniac. My stack was the result of a large pot against him where I had Full House versus a Straight. This was 6 hands previously.
In the hand immediately preceding this one, he went all in from middle position, and then showed 10 3 off. The player behind me is a 77/15 donkey, who may also call, but has a shorter stack. Is this an easy call? A clear case of a madman, who then got tilted even further? Or does the advertising from the first hand change his range for this second consecutive push? I'm genuinely curious who else calls this? (Sorry Americans - this is a real table - although god knows, its the first I've seen in many months) Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Hero ($510.45) BB ($90.70) UTG ($197) UTG+1 ($252.50) UTG+2 ($186) MP1 ($193.82) MP2 ($323.58) MP3 ($252.25) CO ($80.50) Button ($135.05) Preflop: Hero is SB with J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1. 3 folds, MP1 calls $193.82 (All-In), 4 folds, |

Re: 200NL Full Stacks: All in Pre Flop on QJs?
No way I call this. If he keeps pushing with junk, it won't be that hard to be way ahead of him when you do call. You are not likely to be way ahead of him with QJ. He could be tilting off with K-3. I usually don't pay any attention to what they show or don't show as far as changing my range of calling hands. Just because they will push with nothing, doesn't mean they have nothing when they push, so I just try to play against their distribution.

You can't even beat K high. Fold. Wait until you can stack him in a better spot.

I hate getting it all in preflop with AK. It's such a bad move longterm. Even with a read on a maniac, you can find many better spots. This isn't a tournament for godssake. |
