Default Facebook, Myspace, Friendster

What are your thoughts on the various online social networking services? I use Facebook and think it is awesome. It's got a great, clean interface and everything works very well from a technical perspective. I like its built in categories and layout.

I don't care for the level of customization in Myspace. Half (or more) of the user pages are badly designed messes that look like personal webpages circa 1997. The music is often annoying. I also think the "top friends" system is stupid, and I don't like having to pick and choose.

Friendster I don't even use at all anymore, it's clunky, slow, and barren of features.

Facebook because every college student uses it, i don't think I know anyone with a myspace/friendster account.

I'll never forgive facebook for allowing everyone to use it and creating the news feed, which led everyone to block non-friends from seeing their profile, which severely inhibited my stalking abilities.

It didn't prevent stalking. It provided way too much information about all your friends in a convenient feed format. Creepy amounts of information about every single change to their profile. Apparently a lot of people reacted by tightening security on their profiles, which inhibited stalking.

The news feed is still there, but with reasonable customization/privacy features to remedy the creepiness of it.
