Default AK, am I a wuss?

9 players, 10-25NL
Villian and hero have approximately 25-30$ each

I have no #s on villian but have a history with him reraising my bets. I am fairly loose (around 28% flops seen) and like to limp. However I play fairly aggressive in position and post flop. In this scenario I raise to .75 in the CO with AK off and folders to me. Villian is big blind and after two folds reraises to 3$. I puss out and fold not wanting to put it in. Is this nitty? If I call I face at least a 5$ flop bet and if I miss am faced with a tough decision. What would you all do?

Call. You have position and a big hand.

if he does this regularly just push, since he will most likey fold his <1010 hands, and you are a coin flip with JJ/QQ or even against KK you got outs. instead of seeing a flop just teach him not to reraise you, but you have to be careful to not over do it or others will catch on

agreed, you have to call or push (perhaps a BIG reraise). from over here it sounds like you've been running bad and are starting to play too weak. i say that only because thats what i tend to do. when im on a downswing i want to run away from every reraise when in reality thats only going to prolong it.

With the history between you and villain I'd lean towards push. If he does this to you regularly youve got to take a stand and make him remember he cant reraise you off every hand.

I have been running cold for about 3 months. I am feeling like I would rather lose a buck then call and miss the flop and throw away the three extra bucks. How much should I be reraising preflop here if I decide to? Do I pot commit myself? If so should I go all in? This villian would probably put me all in if I reraise to 10 or so and anymore than that I think I should be all in. Thoughts?

Honestly I would just raise with AK against this villain. It is a good spot for him to 3-bet since you opened on the button, and it's further likely he's 3-betting light given how often he's been doing it. Therefore, AK is probably ahead of his range and folding with 6bbs dead money in the middle is a big mistake. Also, a pot-sized raise in your situation is going to look an awful lot like AA.

Think about it this way: assuming he c-bets every flop for $5, you will be approximately breaking even if you fold every time you miss and he shuts down every time he leads the flop and you call.

Calling/Raising>>Folding

I'd call.

It's a pity you don't have enough hands on villian. Is he loose as well? If he raise PF a lot like you stated, then you can place a wider range on his hand. Also, he could be thinking you are loose and is raising you to make you pay for seeing flops. So yeah, you're a wuss, lol, j/k (looks like you're playing scared...are you properly bankrolled?)

Call and see a flop. If any ace or king hits get your money in. Try a checkraise if you miss and he bets out. check/fold turn if he calls. Plus, like you mentioned, you have position. Position is key in NL. [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]
