I'm thinking of suggesting this to stars, what do you think?

Preface:

In years past the $160 DS has been one of the most popular wsop qualifying options. So popular in fact that the $5r turbo sats they ran to them often gave out more than the 81 seats available in the target DS.

My suggestion:

Instead of 81 man sats lets make them 100 man.

150+10 puts 15k into the prize pool and 1k in stars coffers.

Payout schedule:

1st WSOP 11k package
2nd through 5th Entry into $650 WSOP qualifier
6th through 9th Entry into $320 WSOP Qualifier
10th $120

Reasons:

With the traditional 81 man style paying only 1st and then giving replays to 2nd-9th a lot of the people we want playing were unwilling to take a chance. I believe the fish will be more inclined to play this new structure because of the added incentives.

Any excuse to increase the number of the $5r turbo sats. These events were super soft and an excellent source of $W even if you couldn't play the DS.

So what do you all think? I plan to get input and tweak if necessary before sending this to stars.

why not suggest cash instead?

The only problem in my mind is that just because im playing a DS it does not mean i want to play a 650 qualifier.

I guess its W dollars so you could unregister and play DSs if you wanted to though, so it not a huge deal.

Obviously we'd all prefer cash to W$ but stars interest lies in getting us to play again which would make this an easier sell. Unregister and play 4 more double shoot outs if you don't want to play in the 650.

Why not? (serious question - what's your reasoning? Tougher field? Longer tourney? Just don't like 10 handed?)

They've already started to do this with some of their sats.

I feel that the extra to be won the times you make the FT and don't win more than make up for having to beat an extra 2 people on your way to Vegas.

Upon thinking about it more i can see them doing cash. so that will be my suggestion.

You can not offer seats to two different sats like this in one tournament I believe.

I'd actually like to see something along the lines of 11k package for first, 2000$ package for one of the 1500$ wsop events for 2nd. Split up the rest.
