200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
villain is about 30/10 over 50 hands. I was playing alot of tables at the moment and hadn't picked up any reads yet. Anyways, I think there are better lines I could have taken here - what's best? And as played, is turn call standard?
Blinds: $1/$2 4 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $230.65 Button: $177.60 Hero: $220.45 BB: $181.95 Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG calls, Button folds, Hero raises to $8, BB calls, UTG calls. Re: 200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
i think you are ahead hardly here, I would expect to see JT or 22 95% of the time.
the limp call UTG obviously is pretty sucky and seems to fit these hands pretty much perfectly. I don't think this is a draw too often, you have already shown you have strength by calling the c/r so he must know he has little fold equity and he can make his hand by checking behind anyways. quite interested in the results of this one |

Re: 200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
Are you guys just folding the turn because of the overbet shove? do you play flop differently?
In response to Idstain - I don't think calling the flop raise is really showing much strength at all, and to say that villain is checking behind a drawing hand (think something like AdTd) is just giving him too much credit IMO. Just because that's what makes sense to you in that spot, doesn't mean it's what will make sense to some random guy. |

Re: 200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
No you are right, my response kinda ignored the fact that he could be playing it unusually.
However if we don't look at it logically how else do we try to put him on a hand?, i mean 30/10 is obviously pretty weak but it's not as if he is a maniac playing ATC. what did you think he had when you called his shove? |

Re: 200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
Re-raise him on the flop. You are most likely ahead here, and you dont want someone overplaying a pair with a flush draw to draw cheaply; or any draw for that matter.
As played, I would call the turn. If you called the flop bet, the turn was a blank so it is very likely he didnt improve. |

Re: 200NL - overpair on a very drawy board
I'll 3bet raise and FOLD to rr all-in on the flop.
If he just call you 3bets raise then could be AJ or diamond draw. If he 4bets all-in then 99% trip you are behind. |

What amount are you going to be 3betting to here, that you will be able to get away from if he pushes the last little bit in? Notice he only has ~180 in his stack to begin the hand - so are you suggesting like a min3bet on the flop and then fold to a 4bet? |
