Can J.J. Liu Make History Tonight?
Could be first woman to win a WPT main event.
Down to the final three at Bay 101 and J.J. is neck and neck with Ted Forest. |

It's down to heads up against Ted Forest. Still a tall order. But she does start heads up play with the chip lead.

Re: Can J.J. Liu Make History Tonight?
It's been interesting following all the hands instead of just seeing the televised hands. I'm a big Ted Forrest fan so I've been glued to this since I got home from work.

Re: Can J.J. Liu Make History Tonight?
Already JJ has achieved:
Highest WPT (open-invite) finish by a female (2nd). Largest WPT cash by a female ($600,000). 4th largest tournament cash by a female ($600,000). |

Re: Can J.J. Liu Make History Tonight?
roh noes!
254. Liu raises to $480,000 and Forrest makes the call. The flop comes AcKs7d and both players check. The turn is the 10c and Forrest bets $300,000. Lui calls and the river is the 2c. Forrest moves all in for $3,260,000 and Liu makes the call. Forrest turns over the nut flush with the Kc5c. Liu shows Q-J for a straight and mucks her cards. Ted Forrest doubles up and takes a commanding chip lead with $8,200,000 chips to Liu's $800,000. |

More importantly will Olivert get screen time as part of the JJ Liu Posse.... GL JJ... [/ QUOTE ] For the record: 1. I did not sit with the J.J. Liu cheering section, preferring instead to sit in the last row in order to keep a low profile. 2. J.J. Liu was unable to take part in the closing sequence of the TV show (i.e. Mike ton congratulating Ted Forrest) after the tournament ended. -- I am writing this at 4am local time on Saturday from the waiting room of a medical facility. I do not anticipate being able to go home for a while, as I have to do my job. Please refrain from posting insensitive remarks at this time. J.J.'s husband/manager Dan Alspach has instructed me not to comment further. Thank you for your understanding. |
