I'm relatively new at the table and haven't done anything out of the ordinary.
Reads: No strong reads but my impression of UTG+1 is loose and passive preflop and a little passive postflop, altho he does fold to cbets it seems. CO is a little bit moranic LAG preflop with constant min raises, seems loose postflop - seem him call flop and give up turn on a couple of occasions. Cryptologic No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $0.50/$1 6 players Converter Stack sizes: UTG: $98.50 UTG+1: $95 CO: $73.89 Hero: $104.75 SB: $93 BB: $75.21 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, CO raises to $2, Hero raises to $8, 2 folds, UTG+1 calls, CO calls. Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] ($25.5, 3 players) UTG+1 checks, CO checks, Hero bets $20, UTG+1 calls, CO calls. Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] ($85.5, 3 players) UTG+1 checks, CO checks, Hero is all-in $76.75, I think preflop and flop standard. Everyone's range is wide although I'm a little more concerned with UTG+1's flop call than CO. Usually, if a pot wasn't so bloated I may pot control the turn. But in this case I got less than a PSB left, do I shove here? pairing the 9 is not particularly helpful against the unlikely A9s, J9s, T9s, type hands these guys may play with preflop. Thoughts? |

Raise more preflop. Checking behind the turn is way better than pushing. By pushing you just make sure, nearly all worse hands fold.

I like to think I'd get value from TT-JJ, 87s by pushing on the turn.
If I check the turn: 1) what do you do against an open river push, 2) what to do if checked to on river? Thanks, [ QUOTE ] Raise more preflop. Checking behind the turn is way better than pushing. By pushing you just make sure, nearly all worse hands fold. [/ QUOTE ] |

Villain has to be retarded to pay you off with TT here, as you show strength on three streets - very unlikely they put you on 'big cards' once you push.
River depends on the card, if its a blank and both check i bet, if one them openshoves i probably fold. |

I dont know what others do, but when I have a big hand and some idiot min raises pf, I make it 5-6x his raise. Meh, that wasnt a great card for you on the turn, but I think your play is fine. I'd rather try and get value from smaller pps so a scare card doesnt hit the river instead of worrying about one of them having a nine.

Check that turn.
Two opponents called a 3bet preflop, two opponents called a big flop bet, and then top pair on the board paired. Check the turn for sure, and maybe even fold to a river bet (depending on size). Be glad to get to showdown here with this board and these villains. |

I'm definitely checking this turn. the board isn't very drawy and you're wa/wb. if your opponents are bad enough to call with an overpair here, you should be able to get the money in on most rivers as it is. sometimes a high scarecard will fall and kill your action, but I think it's worth it.
you have position, so take advantage of it by seeing what they do on the river. if checked to on the river, this is an easy value bet. |
