$23+2 poker.com - how do you play this?
Sorry - I can't find a hand history convertor for poker.com so I will go from memory.
1-20 paid (11-20 get $30 then the payouts start to escalate at the final table.) 120 players to start. 11 players remain with 6 at my table. I am average stack with 14,000 Blinds are 750/1,500 with a 50 ante. I'm UTG with Ah Kh and raise to 4,500. All fold to BB who calls. BB seems to be TAG but not really noticed him doing much and has about 12,000 when the hand started. I have been playing tight at this table - only played 2-3 of the last 20-25 hands Flop is 10 2 4 rainbow. What now? |

Re: $23+2 poker.com - how do you play this?
The easiest way is to push all-in pre-flop. It's actually not that much of an overbet since it will add 2550 to your stack. Anytime I'm being faced with a pot-committing continuation bet on the flop, I'd rather get it in pre-flop. It's just too bad I keep making the mistake of raising 3x all the time...
But, as played, I'm torn between shoving and checking. The latter might be the best since you are in position. He's got more than 1/3rd of his stack in the pot so he's probably not folding any pocket pair. His cold-call smells like medium pockets so take a free card. |

Push preflop to avoid this situation. AK likes 5 cards.

Agree with everyone who said push preflop.
As played, push flop. |

Re: $23+2 poker.com - how do you play this?
I pushed post flop and he called with QQ and I drew blanks.
Wish I had slowed down on the flop. Any chance that I was not going to get killed on that hand? |

[/ QUOTE ] Unlucky that he had QQ - I wouldn't have put him on a hand as strong as this. Bottom line is, you had less than 10xBB and got dealt AK - there is no shame in going broke here. All-in preflop is a better play, although in this case it would of course have had the same consequences. |

100% standard push preflop. You have < 10bbs and a raising hand = push.
As played push the flop I guess |

Yah - looks like he had a high pair -thats what sucks about AK,can really let you down some times -I wouldnt have pushed unless there was an Ace or King on the Board - GL
