10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
Basically, I limped this because the players directly to my left had aggression factors of 7 and 4 respectively. I figured one of them would raise and I could reraise. My plan worked but I was called.
So, that leads us to the flop....With the pot as big as it was would a push be better? With a $5 pot, I cant see checking and then folding to a bet as villain could take a check as weakness (he was the 7 aggression!) So I cbet, which basically priced me in. Normally, I would c-bet about 2/3 of the pot but my stack size was so ackward I bet 1/2 instead. I guess if I was going to call a raise then push it on the flop, right? Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
ag factor is for postflop, not pre
you don't really beat anything, and I doubt he folds much anyway its prob better to just c/f the flop |

Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
I never really considered c/f. I was a 6-max player and Im trying to work on full-ring for live cash games, so I still have that pre-flop raise, must cbet mentality drilled in my head.
Im thinking more and more that at 10NL, you should only play your cards and only cbet flops you hit and real safe K,5,3 type boards. What if board is the same, except substitute a 9 for the Q? Still c/f? |

Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
I wouldn't go for limp-reraise with AK unless stack sizes are such your reraise is a push.
On the flop preferrably check-fold or (EDITED as I realized Bianculli is right) check-raise as a bluff. Check-fold is better; betting what you bet pot-commits you anyway assuming your outs are live. |

Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
I agree that limp reraising with AK with your stack size is not good. You don't leave enough behind to chase out much of anything other than total air.
If you're going to bet the flop, c/r (which would be a c/c since villain would put you all in) is better since you could at least beat a bluff and any hand he would call you with he would bet but he might bet hands he wouldn't call you with. |

Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
IMO you're trying to be too fancy for 10NL. Rather just raise PF. Why did you reraise so much?
I don't think a cbet on the flop is a bad idea, but considering his AF and your stack size, I would rather c/f Regarding your question: you call a raise, so i'm pretty sure the villian will call an AI. Why go AI with air? |

Re: 10NL, AK flop bet sizing question
Really, NO fancy play on these limits. Just straight forward ABC poker will do just fine. It is really amazing how stupid some of these guys are. If you have a hand bet big on all streets, otherwise just let it go.
