Party Poker Service Charges
Party Poker has informed me that my account has been inactive for 180 days, and as a result they're charging me a service fee. Of course, my account has been inactive because I'm no longer allowed to play there. Is there any recourse? I've sent Party Poker numerous e-mails, and they've replied to none. Any input would be appreciated.

Re: Party Poker Service Charges
Isn't the service charge like 18c or something?

Re: Party Poker Service Charges
they said they were charging me .73. Something like that.
I emailed them and told them that my account is 0.00 anyways and I can't play on Party anyways because I'm from the US. They told me that I should ask to have my account closed. So I did. FU PartyPoker! |

Re: Party Poker Service Charges
1) they clearly advertise this when you sign up
2) the service charge is never more than your account balance. if you have $0.35 there, they'll take that 3) they don't actually apply the charge for a month after they send you an email 4) if you want your money, just go ahead and withdraw it (or gamble it or whatever) 5) they actually have costs to maintain accounts, so it is not unreasonable for them to do this 6) do you genuinely expect them to maintain your 0.35c account balance forever? 7) canadian and australian banks do this too (after 7 years of inactivity in Australia, dunno about exact time). it is highly likely that the vast majority of other western banks do this 8) corporations reguarly write off bad debts and bad credits that are unlikely to ever be claimed/repaid. |

[/ QUOTE ] It might be reasonable to take the last 35 cents from inactive accounts but it isn't reasonable to charge $5 monthly from accounts with thousands of dollars in them. The interest that they receive from having your money is more than enough to cover their costs. |

[/ QUOTE ] If you feel aggreived by this, you should withdraw your money and store it in an interest bearing bank account. How many people genuinely leave thousands of dollars in an online bank account and don't even log into the site for 6 months, and stubbornly refuse to even after receiving an email like that? |
