Default Ocean\'s 11 2/3 NL game increased to 2/5 blinds now.

The Ocean's 11 smaller no limit game just went from 2/3 blinds to 2/5 blinds. However, the min/max buy-ins have stayed at 100-300. I'm not sure what to make of this. I understand the change. Before, the dealers would spend a lot of time making change for all the limpers. Now, limping in with a redbird won't require that extra time.

Before, I bought in for $300 and played some poker with 100xBB in my stack. Now, it's down to 60xBB. I'm thinking that I should just buy-in for $100 and play short stack strategy. There are advantages to this strategy, and with all the gambling going on, I should still be a favorite in the game. In fact, it might work to my advantage since I'm still somewhat of a noob in the NL game.

Thoughts?

I think you should try 40/80 instead.

I guess they did it to match the structure of other rooms in the area. This is the exact structure of the Hustler and I think Hawiaan Gardens.

Its good for the Fish, who cant get rid of top pair on the flop as there will be a bit more money in the pot.

Its good for those who steal as the drop will be a less percetage of steal pots.

Its bad for the nits and those who like deep stack poker.

I was there the other day and I thought that I heard some mention of this. I'd be more apt to play short stack and see how it goes for a while.

This is bad news. I loved the 2/3 game. How can they not raise the BI to 500? Make it a 300-500 game. If the buy-ins stay at 100-300 this is really stupid.

Yep I was there yesterday and it sure suprised me...I don't play NL much but sit at the 2/3 when im waiting for a seat. The really weird thing is they now have a 2/5NL 100-300 buyin and a 5/5 300-1k buy-in game. Anyone else think they are planning on changing the 5/5NL to 5/10NL sometime soon? It doesnt really make sense to have two games so similar in blinds.

Hawaiian $300NL is 3/5. Pretty tight game, though -- I think Commerce and Hollywood are much much softer.

Does that game run regularly? When I was living in SD last year, only the 20/40 ran daily.

I'm not sure. I know it runs every Friday/Saturday. The only Thursday I was there it was going. Of two Sundays it only went one time and that was because like 8/9 of us that were playing 20/40 had overs and it seemed retarded to not play 40. They have 75 on Friday too.

I did not play in it, but the 40/80 ran tonight for a few hours, along with 2 20/40's for a while.
