2-5 flopped full house hand; two questions
2-5 nl at the Venetian. I have about 700 behind, opponent covers, 6-handed. Opponent appears to be decent but has been playing all night and is drinking.
UTG limps, I raise to 20 with 77, UTG calls. Flop: 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. Check/ I bet 45 he calls. Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Check/ I bet 60/ raise to 160/ I call. River A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Question A: What's my action if he bets 200? Question B: What's my action if he bets 500 or more? Question C: I am fairly sure I should have raised the turn, but I think calling is not that bad either. Any thoughts on the turn? -Diplomat |

What an ugly river card..
IMO you should definatly reraise the turn, on the river as played i would call on question A, not sure on question B.. tough spot.. i think he has aces full there but maybe the flush? |

Reraise turn, if he bets the river im dumping it, he would almost certainly check a flush in this spot (and you might be able to get a little value).

he wants to get the money in on the turn - why didn't you let him?

calling the turn is fine, its being a bit results orientated to say you should definitely re raise turn

Push the turn to his c/r.
On the river you are good here very very rarely. UTG's hand stinks of AT-AK. |

[/ QUOTE ] agree about the turn. but why would UTG c-r AT-AQ on the turn? what hand is calling him? If UTG is decent he'll realize that if Diplomat bets the turn he is WA/WB so why c/r? Just call and maybe maybe lead the river. |

Re: 2-5 flopped full house hand; two questions
Shove the turn, he probably has a flush. If he has an A, he's playing it pretty strangely, but he's probably happy to get it in, as well. He's not bluffing here often enough to even really consider it.
I'm probably calling most river bets, he almost never has an A here. The only As you should fear are A5 and A7, dunno if he'd limp that UTG though. Try to get a live read. |
