Default 99 hand

Party Poker
Limit Holdem Ring game
Limit: $0.05/$0.1
9 players
Converter

Am I ok to post such low limits, or is it frowned upon

Pre-flop: (9 players) Hero is MP2 with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, MP1, folds, Hero (poster) calls, MP3 calls, 2 folds, SB calls, BB (poster) checks.

Flop: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5SB, 5 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+1 calls, Hero raises, MP3 folds, SB calls, BB calls, UTG+1 calls.

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (6.5BB, 4 players)
SB bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, SB calls, BB folds.

River: K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (11.5BB, 2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

gets a bit scary here

Results:
Final pot: 13.5BB

Not sure about the PF call as I get a bit confused with the non-premium PPs, is a raise generally better, to blow opponents away, or do i want action if I get the set? Any comments greatly appreciated as always.

this entire hand was played very well. you might have raised PF.

SB's flop and turn donks just put extra money in your pocket. good stuff.

There is no indication on the river that he has a K. if he did you would DEFINITELY have known about it.

and even if you did lose to another boat, that's just variance.

this was played fine.

I agree with marty: if he had a full house with K's, you would have noticed.

Limits are fine. You can post anything in Micros, just don't try to put this in Small Stakes.

Preflop: first, posting in MP2 IS frowned upon. Either post in CO or wait for the BB. Second, once you've posted and there's a limper before you, you must raise 99. First, the limper probably isn't a very good player (or HE would have raised to isolate YOU) so you want to isolate him with position. Second, 99 is a premium PP, especially in this situation; if UTG+1 had a better one, don't you think he'd have raised? 99 is certainly ahead of a normal weak player's range. Really, you should be raising 99 in any unraised pot from any position at these games, pretty much regardless.

The rest of the hand is standard. If SB limped Kx, he played the flop and river like crap, and the turn is no prize, either. Don't even think about folding if he raised the river, either.

I like it all except for PF. I raise PF and go from there.

*******WARNING HAND SPOILER************

********I SAID WARNING HAND SPOILER**********

Hi again thanks for the advice and comments, I'll be taking a stronger stance with hands such as 99 from now on, especially as you can get so many calling stations along for the ride at the nanolimits when you flop a set or better.

However in this particular instance the PF raise may have also served to have the villain fold his K7o, (we're off the front page now so thought I'd give you some closure on the hand)

I was mad for about 3 seconds which means i'm handling the variance a lot better, after all 44 times out of 46 (or whatever it is) he doesnt get his RiverKing.

eskimo you've developed the habit of posting after the results are posted, then advocating exactly what's in the results with 99% certainty -- what's up with that?

Which would have been a good plan from him had he not called instead of raised on the river, what did he think I had K9? 66? He could have an extra ten cents there......

i didnt read results.... and never do before i post.

what hands without a K you think SB double donks with?

if we are b/c and know that SB is c/r his K then there is no way we are good 66% of the time to bet the river.

this just seems so standard..... i dont get how anyone could bet here
