NL100 Low Content (Line check)
Background: I'm a FR player and I have a few problems with the post flop aggression found in 6max games. Unless it's forbiden by a mod or nobody wants to answer I'll try to post a few hands (no more than 4) each time I play a long session to try to fix my leaks. Comment on every streets are wellcome. I'll post hands that I won and hands that I lose so don't be result oriented. I have deleted the stacks of non active players to make this post clearer, the number of players is allays indicated.
Hand #1: Button just sat down. I didn't have any read on him, missed the only hand he played and just see that he said in the chat "Nice call with QJ" SB is loose/passive preflop and loose agro postflop. I haven't seen him going really mad on a flop before. If I record correctly he was 40/8/3 over a small sample size. Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $1 BB (6 handed) Hero ($114) CO ($89.27) Button ($113.65) SB ($129.63) Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.50. 1 fold, Hero raises to $4, CO calls $4, Button calls $4, SB (poster) calls $3.50, 1 fold. There my read on SB was he can have AT or any two pairs or any AhXh/ThXh. I decided it was a fold or a push... Hand #2: Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (5 handed) BB ($188.95) is 17/15/3 over 100 hands. He hasn't 3betted me oop before but he might have a wider range than just TT+/AK. He seems solid overall. Hero ($173.50) I have been quite active at this table table because UTG was really horrible. I raised/3bet pf a lot to isolate. Preflop: Hero is MP with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I nearly allways call when my hand has some potential. Given the pos and the effective stack should I fold here? On the flop I went for a c/rai and was frustrated by his weak bet. As he is giving me correct odds to call for a spade turn should I simply call and reevalute instead of pushing? |

Re: NL100 Low Content (Line check)
I fold hand 1
hand 2 is tough - I guess you can fold on the turn donk, but after calling you can't fold the river hand 3 and 4 are good |

Re: NL100 Low Content (Line check)
1-bet full pot on the flop, easy fold when it comes back to you
2-i think you get more value out of his range by checking the flop. as played, the turn donk bet puts you in a pretty sick spot. i think it's probably a fold though because villain's play seems like a really stupid line for a bluff or any hand that you're ahead of. 3-i dunno, i hate this spot too. hopefully someone else has something good to say. 4-the min 3bet preflop from this donk really makes me fear a monster. obviously don't fold pf, but i'd be a little more cautious postflop. he is giving you sick good direct odds with his flop bet, i don't think there's any reason to get carried away with an overbet semibluff. just call and then lead the turn if you hit, or else check and hope he makes another weaksauce bet. |
