Starting up Jockey lot/Flea Market

I read in a recent post about how somebody knew somebody running a successful Jockey lot/flea market. It got me thinking a lot about that type of business/investment. I tried to find some information about them on the internet but got nothing. Does anybody have and first hand experience or knowledge about startup costs, marketing,, land( commercial or residential), dealing with taxes ( if only dealing with cash), etc to be able to create a succesful market.
